Potentilla fruticosa Hopley’s Orange Shrub Plants
Originally discovered as a seedling of one of the best red potentilla’s, Hopley’s Orange was quickly recognised as an outstanding orange blush variety and soon gained an RHS Award for outstanding garden performance too. One of the longest flowering shrubs, potentillas can bloom from early summer deep into the autumn and are loved by pollinators and other beneficial insects. Potentillas enjoy a sunny position, are robust and easy to grow, tolerating almost any soil. Resistant to drought and hardy enough to survive the toughest winter they are an extremely resilient little shrub once established. Hopley’s orange is slightly more compact than most, making it perfectly suitable for the smallest garden spaces, as well as rockeries and containers for patios or balconies.
