Hollyhock Summer Carnival
A hardy cottage garden favourite. Bright pinks, yellows, reds and whites….very colourful and cheerful (The image is of just one of these colours).
This variety has won awards for its early flowering and totally double flowers that come in an excellent selection of colours, including yellow, red, rose, and white. In comparison to other types, these take up a larger portion of the stem at any given time. Grows easily as a half-hardy annual and produces flowers the first year after sowing the seed.

Genus: Alcea rosea
Sow Seeds: Sow seeds in June, pot on when bigger, and plant out in September for late spring/early summer flowers. Alternatively, direct sowing in May-June is an option. Plant 2 feet apart and provide support against wind.
Plant Out: Pot on once large enough to handle and then plant out where they are to grow in September.  Will flower the following year.  Tall plants for the back of a border or against a wall
